Pilot project of TEGEWA/VCI and K&L provides useful information
The European regulation REACH demands the registration of all chemical substances on the market. This process raises questions of data protection and competition, because competing companies have to cooperate and to exchange information. Together with the industry branch association TEGEWA (committee for textile chemistry), part of VCI (association of chemical industry in Germany), and 13 member companies, K&L conducted a pilot project for the registration of substances and the application of the legal requirements in practice. The ministry of the environment of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and the regional office of Baden-Württemberg for environment, measurement and nature conservation (LUBW) supported the project with expert consulting. The participating companies as well as all customers of K&L benefit from the results and experiences of the pilot project.
