Companies have to pay copyright levies for IT products

As well as for copiers, fax machines or scanners copyright levies have to be paid for many IT products, storage media or new consumer electronic devices. In Europe, copyright levies for IT products are based on the directive 2001/29/EC of 2001. In the information society, copyright law globally has been adapting to the trend that IT products, storage media and consumer electronic devices allow copying and spreading of creative and artistic works protected by copyright law. Copyright levies for IT products, storage media or consumer electronic devices have to be paid by manufacturers and dealers bringing these devices onto the market.
